Friday Fire Turns Fatal

FAIRBORN, Ohio -- A fire last Friday in Fairborn has claimed the life of a woman.Investigators said Katherine Wilkes, 36, died on Monday at Miami Valley Hospital. Authorities said Wilkes was injured in the fire that happened at a home in the 200 block of State Street.Fire crews said the fire heavily damaged the home and was caused by combustibles being too close to a heater.
