Principal Recommending Expulsion For Student

The principal of a local high school wants to expel a 17-year-old student accused of writing racial graffiti.

The principal at Vandalia-Butler High School wants to suspend the student for 10 days and is recommending that he be expelled. Investigators said the student admitted writing racial slurs on a bathroom wall inside the high school.

The graffiti was found last week.

The school district superintendent must now rule on the case. That decision is expected within the next few days.
