TROTWOOD, Ohio -- It looked like a terrifying child abduction caught on tape, but a Trotwood boy’s mother said what a store’s security camera captured was something entirely different.
Police said the incident happened at the Cub Foods store on Salem Avenue on Tuesday evening. The mother of the child told NewsCenter 7 that she and the boy’s aunt spent 45 minutes trying to get the boy out of the store. She said that her son wanted to take some shoe cleaner from the store and refused to leave. She said she felt that she had no choice but to use force to get her 9-year-old son out of the store. The boy’s mother said that she understands how the security video would be misleading. She said she is glad that people are watching and keeping an eye on things.Police in Trotwood said they do not believe anything criminal happened and refuse to file charges. However, they are turning the case over to Children Services
