Dayton Man Shot During Possible Robbery Attempt

DAYTON, Ohio -- Authorities said a man who refused to be a robbery victim ended up a shooting victim. The shooting happened early Friday morning in the 600 block of Oxford Avenue near Catalpa.
Dayton police said officers found 27-year-old David Tucson on the ground on a front lawn. Medics were called and took Tucson to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.Investigators said it appears the victim was approached by a person with a hood pulled down over his face and asked him to step between a couple of houses. They said when the victim refused, the hooded man pulled out a handgun, shot the victim and fled on foot.Police said the Tucson may have a broken leg from the gunshots. They said it appears his injuries are serious, but not life-threatening.Authorities brought in a K-9 unit to try and track the shooter’s scent. They said the victim did not get a good description of the shooter. Officers said a few people came out of their homes after hearing the shots and saw the shooter running from the area.Police continue to search for the person who pulled trigger who took off in an alley between Lexington and Oxford. They said the only description they have is that the shooter is an African-American male.
