UPDATED: 5:10 pm EDT June 2, 2005

The Greene County ACE Task Force arrested a Dayton school bus driver they said sold a kilogram of cocaine to an undercover police officer.

The task force has identified the suspect as Paul Harrington Jr. Investigators said he sold them 2.2 pounds of cocaine.

Undercover officers met with Harrington last week in a store parking lot in Beavercreek. They said that is where he allegedly sold them the cocaine.

According to the sheriff, the cocaine has a street value of $25,000. Investigators took Harrington into custody.

Detectives said Harrington admitted to being a Dayton school bus driver and found documentation in his car that proved it. They said he drives kids to Kiser Middle School and to the Dayton Academy, which is a charter school.

Sheriff Gene Fischer said this is the second time since he has been sheriff that that the task force has arrested someone for selling a kilogram of cocaine. He said the arrest is extremely disturbing, considering what that Harrington drives a school bus for a living.

Harrington has been charged with trafficking drugs, possession of cocaine and possession of criminal tools.

The task force also arrested another man who was with Harrington for complicity. His name is Erick Peagler.

A spokesperson from Dayton Public Schools said Harrington has been put on unpaid administrative leave.
