Police Dog Helps Nab Wanted Man

POSTED: 7:08 am EDT August 10, 2005
UPDATED: 7:26 am EDT August 10, 2005

A man investigators were trying to find for weeks is now behind bars thanks to a police dog.

Terrance Brewer, 41, was wanted on an outstanding domestic violence warrant. On Tuesday night, Moraine police noticed him trying to break into a suspected drug house on Gladstone Street.

Officers called Riverside for use of their police dog. A neighbor said the dog sniffed the ground and picked up the man’s scent and took the officers right to him.

Police said Brewer hit the dog in the nose, so the dog bit him in the ear and the leg. Brewer was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment, before he went to the Montgomery County Jail.

Officers said they removed drug paraphernalia from the home he reportedly burglarized.
