Madden Hills Golf Club Scene Of Armed Robbery

DAYTON, Ohio -- There were some frightening moments for employees at a local golf course on Sunday.Authorities said a man with a gun walked into the restaurant and demanded money. Investigators said the employees did everything the robber demanded, but he still took a hostage.The incident happened at the Madden Hills Golf Club as employees were preparing for Sunday brunch in the kitchen. They said they suddenly found themselves face to face with an armed man.Sgt. David Wolford said the man demanded money from the cash register. Authorities said the robber then needed a getaway car, so he turned the gun on a woman and told her to come with him.Investigators said the woman handed the man her car keys and begged him to just take the car. Police said the man took the woman out at gunpoint and told her to get in her car at which time she ran away.Authorities said about two hours after the robbery, a Dayton police officer spotted the stolen car on Nicholas and Danner and began to follow it. Police said two people jumped out of the car and tried to take off on foot, but the officer stopped the pair.Police said one of the individuals was a juvenile male and is cooperating with investigators.Investigators said the 30-year-old suspect is behind bars facing felony charges. Authorities are still searching for the gun and the cash drawer.
