Letter Carrier Held Up In Dayton
Investigators are searching for two masked men who held up a letter carrier Wednesday afternoon.
It happened at the DeSoto Bass Apartments near Weaver Street.
Officials with the United States Postal Service said the carrier was on his route when he was approached by two men who were wearing masks.
One of those men had a gun.
They robbed him of his wallet but did not take any mail.
Even though the mail was not touched, robbing a postal carrier a federal offense.
Greg Ball with the Postal Service said, "We will seek federal prosecution as soon as we're able to identify suspects in this case."
He said they will be working hand in hand with Dayton Police in hopes of tracking down the robbers.
The Postal Service is offering a reward for information leading to arrests and convictions in this case.
