MORAINE, Ohio -- NewsCenter 7 has learned that thousands of General Motors jobs are on the line and that there are no future plans for the Moraine Assembly Plant after September 2008.GM officials confirmed that come September 2008, the company does not have plans to make any more vehicles in Moraine. But, there are negotiations taking place between workers in Moraine and GM for a future product.A retired GM employee, Harry Amato, said the news does not look good and said the news is sad after spending an entire lifetime at GM.More than 4,000 people work at the plant. The assembly plant makes seven different vehicle lines. However, according to a union letter that NewsCenter 7 obtained, workers would have to agree to concessions. The letter says that GM asked for drastic changes, and in order to get a new line in the future, the Moraine plant must complete and win against all the other plants.Area local businesses are worried about the future of the GM plant. The Upper Deck is a restaurant that is located near the plant and relies on the business that GM workers gives them.
