MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Authorities said two men were arrested accused of trying to buy Sudafed, which is used to make the drug methamphetamine. Police in Miami Township said the men came from Indiana to buy the Sudafed at the Walgreens on Route 741.Police said alert clerks at the store made the arrests possible. Investigators said around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, the two men walked into the store and tried to buy several packs of the medicine. The clerks told police that they recognized the men, who had been in the store earlier in the week.Police said the two men confessed and told police that they were going to take the Sudafed back to Indiana to sell it to someone who was going to make meth.Officers credit the clerks, who are keeping track of people who are buying Sudafed. The state of Indiana has laws restricting the sale of Sudafed. Ohio’s new law will not go into effect for another two months.Stores in Ohio will have to keep Sudafed behind the counter and limit the number of packets sold.
