Volunteer Firefighter Gets Probation In Online Sex Sting

XENIA, Ohio -- A volunteer firefighter from Milfrod, Ohio, will not spend time behind bars for allegedly trying to meet a teenage girl for sex.On Wednesday, Rodney Sears, 31, was sentenced to five years probation and labeled a sexually-oriented offender. In October, Sears traveled to Xenia to meet who he thought was a 14-year-old girl.Detectives said the girl was an undercover police detective. Sears was charged with importuning and attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
