City Approves New Cruisers With Funds From Red-Light Camera Fines

DAYTON, Ohio -- On Wednesday night, Dayton city commissioners approved buying 25 new police cruisers.They said half of the money comes from fines collected from people who have run red lights. Drivers caught running red lights are given an $85 fine.The first red-light cameras were installed in Dayton in 2003. At this time, the city has at least 17 intersections with cameras installed.
