Prison Time Looms For Identity Theft Suspect

DAYTON, Ohio -- Authorities said a man stole his brother’s identity and ripped off the government, now he faces prison time.Montgomery County prosecutors said Chris Devaughns, 46, spent the past five years posing as his dead brother, James Edward Dozier.Investigators said he used his brother’s name to get welfare, housing assistance and child care. DeVaughns pleaded no contest to 24 counts of tampering with government records and two counts of identity theft.He faces 19 years in prison.
