Victim Identified In Victor Avenue Fatal Shooting

DAYTON, Ohio -- Dayton police said a Miamisburg man was murdered outside a vacant Dayton apartment building, leading police to believe the death was drug-related.The man was found outside the building on Victor Avenue around 7 p.m. Monday.Police in Dayton said Benjamin Hugo Dice, 30, was shot in the hallway of the vacant building and collapsed outside near the front steps.A witness said there was blood everywhere and said she saw Dice fall outside the building.Police believe Dice’s killer escaped out a back door of the building and then ran through a garage and into the alley to get away. Investigators believe the shooting was drug-related.A person who lives nearby said drug dealers have been going into the apartment and it was just a matter of time before something happened.Dayton’s homicide squad is investigating the case. An autopsy on Tuesday showed that Dice was shot in the back, but his killer has not been found.
