Possible fire hazard prompts mini Cooper recall

Nearly 90,000 mini Coopers are being recalled because of a possible fire hazard.

The recall includes certain 2006 through 2011 model vehicles, including some mini Cooper Clubman vehicles and mini Cooper convertibles.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said a faulty circuit board in a water pump can malfunction and overheat and cause a fire.

Dealers will replace the water pump for free.
