Winter Restaurant Week in the Dayton area is going to be delicious if the Miami Valley Restaurant Association’s sneak peek Wednesday at Watson’s in Centerville is any indication.

Thirteen local restaurants provided samples of items that will be on their menus during the week that begins Sunday and ends Feb. 3.

More than 50 restaurants will participate.

The Watston’s showroom was full of tasty treats.

One of the most talked-about dishes had to be Dayton’s Jay’s Seafood Restaurant’s super plump and juicy Mediterranean shrimp cocktail salad.

The Restaurant Week mainstay provided an amply supply of the slightly tangy shrimp.

A surprise came from the Station House, which opened about a year ago at St. Leonard, 8100 Clyo Road, Centerville.

The newcomer brought the party with baked cod with mango salsa and a spinach salad with warm bacon dressing.

Umm bacon.

The Dock’s cheesecake and crab-stuffed mushrooms with lobster sauce and Amelia’s Bistro’s duck meatballs in spicy marinara sauce also made mouths smile.

Hickory River Smokehouse in Tipp City knocked it out of the park with a meaty, Texas-style chili.

Three-course meals and meal deals will be offered at participating restaurants during Restaurant Week for $20.13, $25.13 and $30.13.
