The Super Bowl for discount shoppers is literally right around the corner.
You will need a game plan if you want to be the one who busts down the door and nab a 19-inch Polaroid LED/DVD TV from Target for $109.99 or any other Black Friday deals out there.
The crush of shoppers are no longer waiting until 5 a.m. the Friday after Thanksgiving to begin shopping, said Dayton Mall General Manager Dave Duebber.
Most of the stores at the Dayton Mall and the Mall at Fairfield Commons, its sister property, will open at midnight Friday, and they expect shoppers on the hunt for doorbusters, giveaways and other deals to be “elbow-to-elbow and shoulder-to-shoulder” until at least 8 a.m.
So much for letting your food digest before swimming for savings.
Duebber said 100 of Dayton Mall’s 150 businesses will be open by midnight as well; the rest will open their doors around 4 a.m.
Retailers learned last year that the early bird gets the worm and consumer dollars, he said.
“The shoppers will be out there looking for bargains. If they don’t find it with you, then they will get it from somewhere else,” Duebber said.
There are deals galore to be had for the swift, strong and the lucky.
We’ll do our best to help you navigate it all, whether you plan to start at Best Buy where lines began to form at some locations Wednesday or hitting Toy “R” Us shortly after slicing the turkey on what is becoming “Black Friday Eve.”
Here’s some information to help you plan (check store websites for locations and times, as they may vary from community to community):
Weather to Expect
High temperatures are expected to be in the low 60s, with lows in the 40s on Thanksgiving Day, according to WHIO TV Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson. There’s a chance for a few showers on Friday with a high of about 50 and lows in the 40s. Check out 7 Weather Now for the latest forecast.
