$1 Million Bond Set For Alleged Security Guard Shooter

DAYTON, Ohio —

A man accused of shooting two security officers Monday morning is now in jail on a $1million bond.

Prosecutors officially charged Christopher Beatty-Jones with four counts of felonious assault Tuesday.

Beatty-Jones is suspected of shooting the two Moonlight Security officers while they investigated a suspicious car at the Western Manor apartments on James H. McGee.

According to co-workers, Bill St. Peter, 54, was released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

"He was shot in the thumb and forearm, and he was shot near the kidney area and he did have his (bulletproof) vest on that did save him," said John Pawelski, owner of Moonlight Security.

Jim Locker, 50, is still in critical condition.

"It affected me really hard, and it hit my family really hard," said Locker's son, Chris Locker. "On his job, he takes his job very serious. He's a very serious guy."

Friends said Locker was not wearing a bulletproof vest, but said a vest would not have stopped the bullets that went in through his side.

"He was hit once in the left leg, once in the right leg, once in the hand and twice in the side, just under the rib cage," said Pawelski.

Friends and family are now holding close to their faith that Locker's condition will improve.

"The family is praying for him, I'm praying for him and the doctors are doing everything they can," said Chris Locker.

"The big thing is pray. It's out of our hands," added Pawelski. "We really need the community, the churches, people who don't pray a lot, we need them."

Pawelski said both St. Peter and Locker have been with Moonlight Security for approximately seven years.
