RIVERSIDE, Ohio —

Police said a bus full of children was involved in a crash that sent one child to a local hospital.

The crash happened Friday morning at the intersection of Woodman Drive and Burkhardt in Riverside. Investigators said the driver of the bus was not at fault in the crash.

Police said there were close to 50 children on the bus at the time of the crash. They were headed for Saville Elementary School.

According to a witness at the scene, the driver of a van hit an SUV, which then crashed into the school bus. Medics took one child on the bus to Children’s Medical Center with minor injuries.

Police said all of the other children were fine and were loaded onto another bus and taken to school.

Many parents rushed to the scene not knowing what to expect. One parent said she witnessed the crash as she worked at a gas station near the intersection.

The driver of the van was injured and a child in the van was also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Police said they plan on citing the driver of the van.
