DAYTON, Ohio —

An 18-year-old man is in critical condition following an early-morning stabbing in Dayton. The stabbing happened in the 200 block of Wyoming Street.

Detectives said they are now questioning a juvenile in connection with the stabbing.

Police said officers were called after the victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by an unknown person in a light blue car. Police are trying to locate that person.

Officers then went to the stabbing scene and found a large amount of blood on the sidewalk. They believe that is where the victim may have been loaded into the car.

Police said the actual stabbing took place in a bedroom of a home on Wyoming. They believe the victim was stabbed with a butcher knife. Homicide detectives are waiting on a search warrant to remove the knife.

Authorities said a 17-year-old who was also in the home, was taken into custody for questioning. At this time, officers do not know the motive for the attack, but a neighbor believes drugs were being sold out of the rental home.

The neighbor said he has seen a lot of traffic coming and going from the house since the young men moved in recently.
