Husband and wife injured in motorcycle crash

Staff Report

DARKE COUNTY, Ohio —

A female passenger aboard a motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries Monday afternoon in a crash that also sent her husband to the hospital. Witnesses said neither was wearing a helmet.

Hollansburg firefighters said the crash happened when the driver, 27-year-old Charles C. Tucker III, apparently lost control of the motorcycle on gravel as it rounded a curve in the 2300 block of Hollansburg-Richmond Road, just south of Hollansburg, just before 5 p.m.

The motorcycle fell on its side and rolled several times, firefighters said.

Both Tucker and his passenger, wife Carra L. Tucker, 29, were ejected from the motorcycle. The couple is from Richmond, Ind.

Carra Tucker was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital. Her husband was taken by ground transport to Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind., firefighters said. Neither of their conditions were available Monday evening.

The Darke County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction team responded and the accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
