Bond set for two men in BP robbery

SPRINGFIELD —

Bond is set at $31,000 each for two men suspected of robbing a BP gas station in Springfield.

Christoper Burkhart and Michael Wallace are believed to have used a gun in the robbery that is the second of a gas station in two days. This latest robbbery happened around 3:20 a.m. today, according to police.

The men entered the BP in the 2500 block of E. Main St. armed with guns and demanded cash from the clerk, police said. The men were reportedly wearing bandanas over their faces, according to reports.

Police tracked down Burkhart and Wallace and took them into custody several minutes after the robbery was reported. One of the suspects reportedly was tased before being detained, police said.

Thursday morning an armed man robbed the Speedway station on North Limestone Street around 2:10 a.m. Police have not said whether the two robberies are related.
