2 Men In Court For Drive-by Shooting In Sidney

SIDNEY, Ohio —

Two men arrested following a drive-by shooting in Sidney, appeared before a judge on Friday.

One man was arraigned on charges, while the other admitted to his role in the shooting.

Earlier this month, on Aug. 10, there was a drive-by shooting at a home on Grove Street in Sidney, where two people were wounded. A short time later, police arrested two men.

In a Shelby County Common Pleas Court, Samuel Kearse, 29, the gunman, pleaded guilty to two counts of felonious assault, as part of a plea bargain. He could face up to 16 years in prison and a maximum fine of $30,000.

In the same courtroom, Tyrone Kinney, 31, pleaded not guilty on two counts of complicity to felonious assault, one count of discharging a firearm into a house and a drug charge.

A number of shots were fired, police said. They said two people were struck during the shooting.
