500K chin straps recalled because of sharp edges

Under Amror is recalling more than 500,000 chin straps.

The metal snap that connects the chin strap to the helmet has sharp edges that can cut the athlete who is wearing the helmet.

There have been six reports of injuries that required stitches. The recall involves all UA Defender chin straps.

The chin straps were sold at sporting good stores from January 2008 to September 2011 for about $20.

Officials said do not use the chin strap and contact Under Armor for a free replacement at 1-888-823-0343.
