$5M Scratch-Off Ticket Sold In Miami Valley

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Ohio —

A local person will be starting the new year with a new bank account filled with $5 million.

A convenience store in Butler Township has sold a $5 million winning scratch-off ticket, and on Tuesday, the winner showed up to collect his money.

Lottery officials have not released the name of the winner.

The winning ticket was sold at the Dixie Stop Food Mart on North Dixie Drive in Butler Township.

The store’s owner, Jimmy Alsmarat, said customers will line up at his counter to for scratch-off tickets. He said he sells a lot of winning tickets.

While News Center 7 was at the store, two other people cashed in their winning tickets. Just a week ago, another customer turned in a $10,000 ticket.

State lottery officials said someone from the Miami Valley is $5 million richer.

On Tuesday, the owner of the store received $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

Alsmarat said he will be investing his $10,000 back into the store, possibly expanding his ticket offerings.
