DAYTON —
Several Dayton Police officers will be promoted to new positions this week following several retirements within the department.
Six individuals will be promoted during a ceremony at the conclusion of the 8:30 a.m. Dayton City Commission meeting tomorrow at City Hall, 101 W. Third St.
Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl said the department continues to transition new individuals into supervisory ranks due to ongoing retirements.
“The Dayton Police Department is fortunate to have so many talented, dedicated and competent personnel to assume roles of increased responsibility and the citizens of Dayton will be well served by these new promotees,” he said.
Also at Wednesday’s meeting, commissioners will have a first reading of an ordinance to rehire Deputy Chief Robert Chabali through 2014. He is currently set to retire in February.
