MIAMISBURG —

Inspired by love and a desire to outdo their neighbor’s snowman, an empty-nester couple’s snow sculpture drew some attention Wednesday.

Missy and Scott Meredith of Heincke Road said they used shovels and kitchen knives to sculpt some of the snow in their front yard into a large heart, then used red spray paint to color it.

Several people have stopped to get a closer look and take photos, Missy said.

Missy said she and her husband walked outside and saw their neighbor’s impressive snowman. Not to be outdone, Scott said, “Let’s see if we can make a big ol’ snow heart.”

With four children and 10 grandchildren, Missy said the big heart reflects all the love in their family.

“Hopefully it lasts until the weekend when the temperatures warm up,” she said.
