ACE Task Force Destroys $150K Worth Of Marijuana

XENIA, Ohio —

Agents from the Agency for Combined Enforcement (ACE) destroyed 160 marijuana plants in Greene County Friday, an illegal crop worth roughly $150,000.

Friday marked the agency’s second day of combined eradication effort from the air by destroying the leafy drug, Bruce May, of the ACE task force, said.

“The weed grown in Greene County is sold in Greene County and goes straight to our streets and neighborhoods,” May said. “This is a valuable way of getting rid of illicit drugs.”

ACE agents said marijuana growing appears to be on the increase in 2009, but so have their seizures – 744 plants since the eradication process began.

So far this fall, several arrests have been made in connection to marijuana busts in Greene County and police expect more to come after the latest find.
