Open containers found in crashed car with teens

DARKE CO., Ohio —

Deputies in Darke County responded to a rollover crash that involved six teens on early Saturday morning.

The crash happened around 1:13 a.m. in the 7400 block of North Star- Fort Loramie Road.

Deputies said their preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old male from Fort Loramie, lost control and struck a guardrail.

The vehicle rolled several times and struck a utility pole before coming to rest in the middle of the roadway.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The vehicle was occupied by six people.

Two were transported to Wayne HealthCare in Greenville and one was transported to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton by the Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU), CareFlight could not fly due to weather conditions. Two refused treatment at the scene and one was later located at his residence in Ft. Loramie with no injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Department.
