Andrew Douglas is an award winning reporter and an Emmy nominated anchor. He has been a proud member of the WHIO-TV family since October of 2000. He currently serves as the evening anchor for NewsCenter 7 weekend editions and reports during the week on Newscenter 7 and UPN-17's First News at 10.

In 2005 SPJ awarded him first place in the state of Ohio for 'Best Consumer Reporting' for his investigation into the cost of prescription drugs here in the Miami Valley. He also earned a SPJ award for an investigation into dirty restaurants. In 2004, Andrew received an Emmy nomination for 'Outstanding News Anchor' and remains an active member of the National Television Academy.

Prior coming to Dayton, Andrew worked in the Mountains of East Tennessee in the Tri-cities at WJHL. While there he won an Associated Press award for 'Continuous Live Coverage' of Hurricane Bonnie. His investigation into a Tennessee wedding chapel helped rewrite state legislation protecting hundreds of marriages.

He also was a part of an extensive reporting team that covered Florida's worst tornado disaster in 1998. Andrew was one of the first journalists hired at the 24 hour Orlando cable station, 'Central Florida News 13' in 1997. He also covered Florida's raging forest fires in '98 and the NASA space program including live reports from shuttle launches and landings.

His first job out of college was a 'one man band' in Columbus, Georgia at the CBS affiliate, WRBL. Andrew is a graduate of the University of Florida and began his broadcast career at WUFT-TV and WRUF-AM/FM. Andrew has been the co-host of the Downtown Dayton Christmas Parade since 2002. He also enjoys volunteering at the Dayton Greek Festival each year.

His Ohio roots come from his dad who was born and raised in Canton. He grew up in Boca Raton, Florida and now lives in Dayton with his wife, daughter and son.
