2012 Beggar's Nights

Some area Trick-or-Treat events are being rescheduled for safety reasons because of the inclement weather.

Beavercreek, Beavercreek Twp., Bellbrook, Bowersville, Cedarville, Fairborn, Jamestown, Spring Valley, Sugarcreek Twp., West Milton, Phillipsburg Xenia and Xenia Twp. have all rescheduled.

Several businesses and communities are offering indoor trick-or-treating alternatives this year because of the weather. See the bottom of this page for more details on your options.

Indoor alternatives

• Moraine city leaders said beggars night is still scheduled for tonight, and afterward, the Bob Rosencrans Community Halloween Party will be held at the PRC Gym.
• Scene 75 Entertainment Center, at 6196 Poe Avenue in Dayton will be holding indoor trick-or-treat tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 6-9 p.m. with candy at every attraction and a costume contest. All kids are welcome and candy is supplied.
• An area church has moved its annual “trunk-or-treat” event indoors to provide children a warm and safe alternative, according to a release. From 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday night, a costume parade and contest, games and treats will be available to children at the Fort McKinley Church at 3721 W. Siebenthaler Avenue.
• Trick-or-Treat at the West Chester IKEA store tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 5-8 p.m. Dress up in your Halloween best and get candy at different stations inside our store.
• Jumpy's Fun Zone, 1528 W. Main Street, Troy will host an indoor trick-or-treat event on Wednesday, October 31 from 4-8 p.m. featuring crafts, face painting, candy stations, Unlimited Jumping, Unlimited Laser Tag, and a costume contest.
• Town & Country Shopping Center at 300 E Stroop Road in Kettering will host a Halloween Spooktacular indoor trick-or-treat event on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. featuring a balloon artist, free games and prizes, refreshments, cookie decorating and more. Bring your own bag for candy collection.
• The City of Dayton will host a Fall Harvest alternative event tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the Greater Dayton Recreation Center, 2021 W. Third Street featuring a movie with popcorn and punch, Halloween games and the Chamber of Chills and at the Northwest Recreation Center, 1600 Princeton Avenue, featuring a movie with popcorn and punch, a Thriller dance and the Chamber of Chills. Both events are for children 12 and under and costumes are encouraged.
