Arrest Made In McCartyville Robbery

MC CARTYVILLE, Ohio —

Deputies in Shelby County said they have arrested a man who is a suspect in a Tuesday night armed robbery at Buckeye Drive-Thru and Pizza in the village of McCartyville on State Route 29.

According to deputies, Larry Hughes II, 28, of Sidney, displayed a handgun and then headed east on Route 119 after the robbery.

A short time later, Port Jefferson Police Chief John Puckett saw a vehicle matching the description. Assisted by Sidney Police and the Ohio State Patrol, Hughes was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies said they found a .38-caliber handgun in the Hughes' truck.

He was charged with aggravated robbery. The truck was impounded by deputies.

Hughes is being held in the Shelby Correctional Facility on a $20,050.00 bond.
