Arson suspected in vacant structure fire

By Breaking News Staff

HUBER HEIGHTS —

A fire investigator believes someone may have lit a fire Wednesday in a vacant building that was once used as a business for batting cages and putt putt golf.

Fire crews responded shortly before 4 p.m. and discovered a fire in the attic area of the small building in the 2900 block of Harshman Road.

A Dayton fire official said the structure was once used to store bats and golf clubs for a business there that has long since closed.

Boards had been removed from the structure and evidence suggests someone intentionally started the fire, the official said.
