SHELBY COUNTY —
Shelby County deputies no longer believe a reported home burglary early Tuesday morning was a hoax.
Around 5:16 a.m. Tuesday, a juvenile reported a burglary in the 1300 block of South Main Street and reported several items taken, and deputies said several guns were found stolen from the residence.
While conducting the investigation, deputies located a male juvenile who was wanted for questioning by Sidney police for an armed robbery reported earlier Tuesday morning. In that case, two people were approached by a male displaying a handgun. The male demanded money, and took cell phones and cash, according to reports.
Deputies said later Tuesday the juvenile girl made up the burglary story on Main Street, and that several firearms missing from the home were believed to be used in the earlier robbery, which the juvenile male is still a suspect in.
On Wednesday, deputies said they no longer believe the burglary story was a hoax. Other juveniles could be charged.
