RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. —
Authorities are crediting social media in the arrest of a Richmond man for his alleged role in a robbery at the U.S. Bank branch in Lynn, Ind. Wednesday morning.
Mark Jones, 44, was arrested at the Days Inn, 5775 National Road East, early Thursday morning.
Police received several tips on Facebook after posting photos of the bank robber on the social media site.
After several hours, authorites were able to locate the Jones at the hotel, where he was taken into custody, police said.
Jones was booked into the Randolph County Jail on preliminary charges of robbery and theft and is being held on a $25,000 bond, authorities said.
Wayne County Sheriff Jeff Cappa confirmed that Jones is also a person of interest in a robbery at the MainSource Bank on U.S. 27 in Fountain City on Jan. 25.
