BBB Issues Warning About Air Duct Cleaning

The Better Business Bureau has a warning for consumers if they are looking to get their home’s air ducts cleaned.

The BBB said many companies place ads featuring low prices, but once they are in your home, they use bait and switch tactics, claiming you need more services than advertised and charge higher prices.

The BBB said stay away from companies that recommend duct cleaning as a routine part of heating and cooling maintenance.

The EP recommends that air ducts be cleaned as an as-needed basis.

Also, request written estimates from three companies based on similar specifications. And, make sure companies are insured and members of the National Air Duct Cleaners Associations.
