Be alert for deer especially at dusk and dawn

Anytime is "deer time."

By Steve.Baker@CMGOhio.com

OHIO —

A warning from area law enforcementĀ  watch out of the deer especially as you drive at dusk and at dawn, they are on the "run."

The deer population in Ohio is estimated at over 600,000.

Annually in Ohio there are over 25,000 deer-vehicle crashes which result on over 1,000 injuries and several fatalities every year.

All collision with a deer are to be reported to police, deputies or troopers.

Remember deer do not roam alone. When you see one deer there are others in the herd.

If you strike and kill a deer that deer is yours if you want it, according to Ohio law.
