KETTERING, Ohio —

Far Hills Avenue in Kettering is back open after the bomb squad detonated a suspicious package in the area.

Someone called Kettering Police around 2 a.m. from the Shell gas station at the corner or Stroop and Far Hills.  The caller said there was an unattended suitcase near one of the pumps.

Officers blocked off traffic in the area and called in the Dayton Bomb Squad.

Bomb technicians used a robot to x-ray the bag.  They found nothing alarming inside, so officers decided to detonate the bag in the middle of the intersection.

All roads are back open.   Police will try to determine who left the bag at the gas station.
