OAKWOOD —
A male and female in a minivan were taken to Miami Valley Hospital on Wednesday afternoon after their vehicle smashed into a tree in the 1600 block of Far Hills Avenue.
A preliminary investigation suggests the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, but police are still trying to determine whether the cause was weather-related or related to a medical condition.
The occupants are in their 60s, according to Oakwood police.
Crews were dispatched to the area at about 3:45 p.m. on a report of a car into a pole, in front of Brookdale Place.
The northbound lanes of Far Hills continue to be shut down because of the accident, and traffic has been diverted onto Telford from Far Hills.
Traffic in the southbound lanes continued to be restricted because of emergency equipment.
All traffic on Far Hills is expected to be returned to normal within the half hour.
