Overnight crash on State Route 73, February 2, 2013

FRANKLIN —

A man was transported to a local hospital after walking 1/4 mile following a crash.

An unidentified man was driving southbound on Interstate 75 near State Route 73 early Saturday morning. He drove off the left side of the highway, struck the I-75 bridge going over Route 73. His vehicle went airborne, hit the side of the bridge again before traveling down off the highway onto Route 73. The driver then went across Route 73, hit the overpass and flipped his vehicle, landing on its top.

The victim got out of the vehicle and walked a 1/4 mile down the road to a Speedway station where medics found and transported him to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Ohio State Troopers said the man told them he had been drinking earlier in the night, but he has not officially been charged.

The incident is under investigation.
