DAYTON —

A US Airways flight bound for Charleston, W.Va., from Charlotte, N.C., diverted to Dayton International Airport on Thursday evening because of engine trouble.

An alert signaling trouble was issued at 8:31 p.m. and the Bombardier CRJ landed safely at about 8:40 p.m., said Linda Hughes, spokeswoman for the airport.

There were no injuries among the 48 souls on board.

Some of the passengers were being put up in hotels, while others opted to continue their journey to West Virginia by vehicle, Hughes said.
