Burglar steals smokes, lottery from gas station

DAYTON —

Police are looking for a man who stole several lottery tickets and packs of cigarettes from a Shell gas station at 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The store manager reported the incident to police after he received a call about an alarm at the store, at 3613 N. Main St.

The glass door at the front had been smashed by a brick, which had been lying behind the store, according to the Dayton police report.

The suspect took 500 lottery tickets and six packs of Marlboro and Newport cigarettes, according to the Dayton police report.

The store’s security camera recorded the suspect. He appeared to be a black male about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 wearing a black and grey Chicago Bulls coat with a black hood, blue jeans and tennis shoes, police said.

The value of the stolen items was estimated at $1,030.
