Twins, 18-months-old, pinned under TV, dresser

GERMAN TWP. —

Eighteen-month-old boy and girl twins were taken by CareFlight to Children’s Medical Center today after a dresser and television fell on them.

According to German Twp. fire chief Tim Holman, the twins were climbing on a chest of drawers when they pulled a 32-inch tube television and the dresser down on top of them. The incident happened in an apartment unit in the 2100 block of Troy Road around 10:30 a.m. today.

Emergency crews were unsure how long the children were pinned, so CareFlight was requested as a precaution, Holman said. The children’s injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

The boy suffered injuries to his abdomen, and the girl suffered a laceration to her head, he said.

The mom was home at the time of the incident, and a neighbor was able to assist her with getting the furniture off the children. No charges are expected to be filed.
