CELINA, Ohio —

Celina police and fire units responded to a call of a suspicious package at the Celina WalMart Super
Center on Havemann Road on Friday afternoon.

At 3:18 PM the Celina Police Department received a call from WalMart security stating they were evacuating the store because of a suspicious package, said Celina Police Chief Dave Slusser.

Officers arrived at WalMart to find the package was on a counter at the service desk. It was approximately 12" by 3" by
1.5". After examining the package a decision was made to remove it from the store.

It was taken to a safe location where the package was opened and the contents could be examined. It was found that the
package contained only batteries.

"The store was shut down for less than one hour," noted Slusser.

The investigation into this incident is continuing.
