Child Escapes Serious Injury When Struck By Car

DAYTON, Ohio —

Authorities said a 12-year-old girl could have been seriously injured or even killed when she was struck by a car. The driver of the car said the girl came out of nowhere.

The driver said the girl darted out in front of him when she was struck. The accident happened on Burkhardt Drive in Dayton on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the girl was taken to Children’s Medical Center, where she is expected to be OK.

Authorities said the driver was not charged.
