Choking Game Among Teens Prompts Concerns In Miami Co.

TROY, Ohio —

An old game is causing new concerns among law enforcement in the Miami Valley. It is the choking game and it is being played by teenagers.

The school resource officers from the Miami County Sheriff’s Department are so concerned about the recurrence of the choking game, that they have put together a brochure for students, parents and teachers.

According to deputies, students are reporting that they believe the game to be a safe way to seek a high as it does not involve taking drugs.

Deputies believe the teens have no idea how dangerous the game is.
