Cincinnati Airport Terminal Cleared

HEBRON, Ky —

Authorities temporarily cleared a terminal area after a security breach at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Airport officials said a passenger walked away with his bag before security agents finished their screening. As a precaution, all passengers on flights leaving Terminal 2 were called back from their gates to be re-screened and no problems were found.

Airport spokeswoman Barb Schempf said operations were back to normal Thursday by 8:30 a.m., about two hours after the incident.

Airports around the country have heightened sensitivity in the aftermath of the Christmas Day arrest of a man who allegedly tried to detonate an explosive device hidden on his body on a Northwest Airlines flight near Detroit.
