Clark Co. Conducts OVI Checkpoint With Grant Money

CLARK COUNTY, Ohio —

In Clark County, 13 law enforcement agencies are working together as a task force to stop intoxicated drivers.

A $136,000 grant was given to the group from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office. The money will allow city, county, township and village law enforcement agencies pay for overtime for extra officers and a sobriety checkpoint once a month.

Previously, the law enforcement agencies had just one checkpoint a year. Clark County is one of 11 counties in the state that received the task force money.

The Clark County OVI Task Force is conducting a sobriety checkpoint at the intersection of routes 40 and 68 in front of Snyder Park. The checkpoint will begin at 11 p.m. and end at 2 a.m.
