W. Carrollton could give speed limit a look

WEST CARROLLTON —

The speed limit through West Carrollton has been a moving target lately as city leaders look to appease citizens and ensure safety.

Council members agreed Tuesday night to reconsider changing the speed limit to 30 mph on Central Avenue/Dixie Drive, between Miami Avenue and Manchester Road.

On-street parking was added in the city and the speed limit was reduced to 25 mph from 35 mph for safety considerations, said city spokeswoman Erika Mattingly.

The change has been in place for a month and many citizens are saying it’s too slow, so council hopes that 30 mph will be an acceptable compromise, Mattingly said.

Council members are expected to reconsider the issue in December.
