Covington Man Charged With Driving While Intoxicated

TIPP CITY, Ohio —

A Covington man was charged with drunken driving after an accident on Interstate 75 near Tipp City on Thursday night.

State troopers said Stephen Amick, 21, was driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes of I-75. Authorities cited Amick for a number of traffic offenses, including driving the wrong way.

Troopers said Amick hit a total of two cars and a semi. They said eight people were injured, but they were all treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Investigators said southbound I-75 north of Tipp City was shut down for about two hours with traffic backed up to Troy.
